Because, the only way he'll be near the team is if he buys a ticket to Gillette in a few years to watch our 1st round pick from Oakland star for the Patriots.

If he 'fails' the physical, the trade is voided and he's a member of the New England Patriots. Since it's all just business, I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem.

If he "fails" his physical, the doctor who certifies that risks "failing" his license.
But keep yer hopes up.

I can't recall who said it, but I was once told that pretty much any NFL player's physical will turn up plenty of reasons to fail him if a team wants it that way. And, given Seymour's injuries, I'm sure he'd be an easy 'fail'.
By the way, it's not about hope. It's about interesting. I didn't like the trade, so I have no problem if this takes time to shake out. It's making for good theater.

Not really, though Schefter's Oakland sources are pretty weak as a rule. Sey was unlikely to give up that Sunday paycheck. That doesn't mean the Union isn't going to jump in and fight for a point 'they' think needs a stronger precedent, in this case the use of a "five-day" letter to threaten a traded player. There's a four-player battle here, Seymour vs Oakland and NFLPA vs NFL, different priorities jumping in to keep it interesting for DI.

Enjoy your theater. I'm looking forward to the Buffalo game and that top-5 1st rounder in 2011.
Plus, the knowledge that BB intends to remain here another decade or so! All the little Borges' and Felchers out there can rage themselves into the ground.
