The Palace Intrigue is occuring in Oakland - - there must be some kind of internal coup taking place - - honestly, they simply can't let this escaped Alzheimer's patient gut their organization. Honestly, it would not surprise me if they are talking with the league offices about nullification due to competency isues - -and that they are merely playing for time until Goodell rules on this. 10% chance they are in for an engrossing estate court case in the Bay Area.

HBO doesn't need any script writers for their next great Sunday night show - - the script is already there in Oakland - - it could rival Six Feet Under, The Sopranos or Mad Men.

A 2011 first instead of a 2010 2nd and a 2010 makes much more sense than us wanting a 2011 1st instead of a 2010 first.

Also, when the rumors were flying, someone suggested that pioli had offered a 2010 2nd and would still do so if the oakland deal fell through.

From my perspective, the compensation seems a bit insufficient. For me a 2011 1st is about equal to the 2010 2nd as these last couple of posts indicate. I would also note that Belichick demonstrated that a 2009 3rd was worth a 2010 2nd.

In the end, we had plenty of draft choices in 2009, and have plenty in 2010. Belichick wanted to dump Seymour and a 2011 draft choice was the best value to the team that he could get.

Most recent I read was that the holdup is Seymour looking for a new deal from Oakland before reporting. Which makes all the sense in the world actually.

Whats a week or two of game checks to grab a 6-8 mil signing bonus?
