I think they should definitely keep him. Taylor and Morris and Faulk even are OLD.

3 post 30 RBs? Too much.

Kind of a waste signing Taylor unfortunately. BB does love his washed up vets...Duane Starks comes to mind. At least he didn't trade a #3 for Taylor.

Huh? So you honestly expect them to carry 5 RBs?

Yes because they will definitely not have 5 RB's by the end of the year. Someone will definitely go to PUP or IR at some point.

I've been saying you have to balance age/wisdom with youth/energy. That RB without BJGE has three players over 30 who are injury-prone, leaving only Fred Astaire as the young RB, and even then, he's had his share of injuries.

Can someone confirm that Taylor has PS eligibility but BJGE does not? If so, Taylor to the PS could be the injury insurance. It depends on how much they value BJGE skills compared with guys like Taylor. I like BJGE, but it is difficult to see how they could keep a guy who would not play unless several guys got hurt over somone who will play all the ST downs (Aiken, Slater, Ventrone, etc.)

BJGE is no longer eligible for PS.

Which Taylor are you talking about? There is no way we sneak Fred Taylor to the PS.

Yeah, but the point is that a JAG like BJGE can be picked up at any point throughout the year.

Of cousre-- I was talking about Chris Taylor. He could be put on the PS and serve as injury insurance.

Absolutely. Almost no question, IMO. 5 RBs. With David Thomas filling the Hochstein/Heath Evans role, along with some versatility on the OL, I think they will be able to do it. And given the injury history of Maroney, Morris AND Taylor, keeping a guy like BJGE is a good idea. Add to that that it's arguable he can fill the Faulk-in-training spot, the guy's a solid value.

It goes to priorities. IF you keep Ben you can't keep 9 OLmen, If you keep Ben you can't have 4 TE. If you keep Ben, you lose a defensive player. Like the cap, you'd like to sign everyone to whatever they want to stay, but if you do, there are consequences.

Listen, next week teams will all have to cut 12 more players to get to the final 53. That's 384 players. 384 guys who have been good enough, and have done enough to impress coaches to keep them around through the OTA and 6 weeks of camp. MOST of whom are good enough to play in the NFL, but for one reason or another will get cut. Just a log jam at a position. No one got hurt. Or someone got hurt and they have to keep a guy at another position

On every board there are discussions going on like this one about keeping someones Binky. the fact is that there will be some 300 very good players who be looking for work. We all know that the final 53 is NEVER the FINAL 53, and about 30 of these guys WILL end up on a roster by the end of the year..

IMHO BJGE, is an NFL quality back up RB...but not on THIS team...THIS year. There are just too many other areas that need help more than RB
