Good move by the Pats. Get yourselves screened.

My grandmother, father and sister (left 2 young kids) all died from melanoma. Prevention first, then early detectiona and prompt action is important, once it metasticizes, you're done. No time to wait in a healthcare que with melanoma.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.
This is known as "bad luck." RAH

People think, "If I have a spot, I'll just get it removed and it'll be fine." That's provided you find it early enough. Most people ignore it and say they'll get it checked "the next time I go to the doctor". I can't get over how quickly it kills, especially after going through it and PatsWickedPissah obviously knows as well - so don't take any chances. If you're going to the stadium stop and take a moment to get screened.
