Default Messages to Rodney Harrison

My buddy Bill, who is a close friend of Rodney's and the webmaster of Rodney's official site has asked me to help spread the word about the new "Fan Page" he's incorporated into the site. Here messages and well wishes to Rodney may be sent and Bill will post them. Rodney does read these messages and as he enters his retirement from football and begins the next phase of his career, he really appreciates that we're thinking about him. Rodney has said that it was the feeling of welcoming and belonging which the Pats displayed that made him want to be a part of this franchise, so I encourage everybody to send some goodwill his way in true New England fashion! If you click on the link in my sig, you'll be directed to a couple of more links - one for the Fan Page and one to submit your own message.

There's a new message from Rodney in response to the flood of e-mails. Check it out:

http://rodneyharrison37.com/index.html

And if your message is not up yet, know that Bill is still working on it and will have it up soon.

I sent my comment but figured I would share it here as well:

Rodney, I hated you as a Charger and loved you as a Pat. A couple years ago I took my kids to training camp, we stopped by the pro-shop just in time to get some autographs. Amongst the shouts of 'Rodney!', "Hey over hear!', 'C'mon Rodney', younger daughter shouted 'Hi Rodney, can you sign my hat please?' You stopped and looked several feet away over at us and said 'Who's calling me? Was that you?' You skipped over grown men with helmets and photos and rude kids and parents shoving programs and paper at you to come talk to my daughters. My oldest wanted a jersey that day and didn't know what to get. That moment sealed it for her. #37 all the way! You and I spoke a bit about my 1 year old son whom I was holding and his stair climbing prowess. I didn't get an autograph for myself as I don't believe much in it, but I appreciated and will always remember the very brief conversation we had as a couple of dads talking about the kids amongst the chaos. That meant more than some scribbles of ink ever would. A few weeks later you were suspended for use of HGH. At first my daughter was heart-broken and I was angry. When she heard the news, she asked what to do, she was upset. It was then that I thought back to our brief conversation. You're just a regular guy like the rest of us. You're not perfect in the choices you make and neither am I. I told her to be proud of you for standing up for your mistakes, for being accountable and for not making excuses. I told her you were more of a role-model now than you were before. She wore that #37 jersey proudly to school the next day. I appreciate the player you have been and the man you are. Thanks for the thrills and thanks for taking just a couple minutes to connect with us personally. We'll miss you on the field but NBC just gained a new viewer to Sunday night football's pre/post and halftime coverage even when the Pats aren't playing. I can't wait! Take Care!

Wow, that's a great message! Well done and much better than my "Hi from China Rodney, best of luck" or whatever dribble I wrote. You should be proud of having thoughtful, polite kids.

Use the Contact us page on Rodney's site. Send your query to Bill - he may have more of those available.
