When Eric Mangini was fired following yet another New York Jets stretch run collapse, some might’ve thought that perhaps the animosity between the two franchises would take a little breather. Maybe the games this season wouldn’t be quite the over-the-top storyline-filled dramas that we’ve come to expect. Maybe it would just be about football.

If we’ve learned anything over the years, it is that Patriots/Jets is always going to be contentious, no matter who the faces on the sidelines are. Whether it was Weeb Ewbank, Joe Walton, Bill Parcells, Herman Edwards or Mangini, the games between these two franchises have always been circuses.

It seems clear that Rex Ryan aims to keep it that way.

That's some for real talk coming from Rex Ryan, I hope he realizes the consequences of said actions.

On another note, how great would it be to start the season 2-0, getting 1/3rd of the divisional schedule out of the way right off the bat?!!

I see absolutely nothing wrong with what Ryan said.

What this "article" is all about is a Patriots homer that hates to see a division rival speaking with confidence, nitpicking every little thing and finding things that aren't there.

For example, how is this a "jab at the Patriots?" They asked Ryan how many stitches a player got. “I don’t know how many,” Ryan said, referring to the number of stitches required to get Harris’ cut under control. “We’re keeping that from New England.” This is just a harmless joke and playing into the very spirit of the game.

What a completely ignorant article written by a true knucklehead. You don't have to search that hard for reasons to hate the Jets.

Sounds like you've got some personal issues with the article itself. I liked reading it and think it adds to the rivalry. Rex Ryan, aka "loudmouth/larda$$" is personally calling out BB and the Patriots with those comments. Whether it's for publicity or personal, it's just plain dumb. Which seems to sum up everything associated with the entire Jets organization.
