Sheckey Greene must be unavailable.

Yeah,He said McGinest is one he expected the Pats to take interest in seeing that there are few veteran OLBs available left at a realistic cap number for the team.

Of course there can always be a trade for a solid veteran OLB to hope for.
Funny since Kirwin was on the Julius Peppers bandwagon as late as the Friday before the draft. He said on WEEI the Friday morning before the draft that he thought the Peppers trade would happen on draft day. Maybe he was just backing up his fellow NFL.com Vic Carruci on his story or something.

I don't know how he thought the Pats would figure out how to fit Peppers under the cap and now state the Pats can only afford washed up players that no one rerally wants or never was' that no one really wants.

I can't see Roderick Green being anything more than depth and special teams. Here is what Scout Inc has to say about the guy (they give him a grade of 49 which is a below average back up/special teams specialist):

Quote:
Green is a backup OLB and special team's contributor. He is a good system fit who was originally drafted by the Ravens when Mike Nolan was the defensive coordinator. He has contributed mainly on special teams units throughout his career and has some size and functional play strength. He is more natural on the outside than inside in the 49ers' 3-4 defense. Gren is an above-average technician who has strong hands to set the edge of the defense, but is not real explosive in his stack and shed ability. He has some play speed and can close down off the backside. He flashes the ability to create pressure off the edge as a pass rusher. However, he lacks the speed and quickness to bend the edge and consistently close on the QB. He is not real natural off his zone drops and struggles to play under control in open space. Green has limited awareness when reacting to pattern recognition on the backend and he lacks the ability and skill set to match up in underneath man-to-man situations.

I don't know how he is much of an upgrade of anyone the Pats have on their roster.

It's akin to spelling your own name wrong. Aye carumba!

This man is a professional journalist and his opinions should be taken seriously by the so-called "experts" on this board!

I think you get two points just for writing your name correctly... but in all fairness to him, Roderick is a tough name to spell.
