Tweet: Marvin Harrison To Hang Up His Cleats
Posted by Aaron Wilson on May 6, 2009, 4:29 p.m. EDT

Although former All-Pro wide receiver Marvin Harrison hasn’t officially filed his retirement papers since being cut by the Indianapolis Colts in a salary-cap related move, it looks like Harrison is done playing football.

According to Peter King of SI.com, Harrison, 36, is walking, er, limping away from the game.

Via his Twitter feed, King writes: “I’ve been told reliably that Marvin Harrison’s not playing anymore. Knee hurts. Can’t get healthy like the old Marvin.”

Well, that will, at least, free him up to deal with those pesky firearms investigations down at the Carwash, baby!

Can't say I blame the guy, he doesn't need the money; and even if he does he can always rent himself out as a speaker, do broadcasting, write a book, endorse stuff, etc.

Makes me wonder though - was no one else interested in him?

Marvin A-Rod Harrison ... not for the roids ... rather for the season vs playoffs numbers.

He didn't have to retire though. Even if he couldn't play wide receiver anymore, there was always a spot as a special teams gunner.
