Today I'll tell you I believe the priority for the Dolphins will be pass-rush, followed by cornerback, followed by wide receiver.
Why pass rush?
Because that's Bill Parcells running the draft and he believes in knocking down the quarterback and winning at the line of scrimmage. Because a great pass rush instantly improves your secondary. Because a great pass rush gets the defense off the field. Because a great pass rush can turn a promised field goal try into a punt. Because Joey Porter was Miami's sack leader in 2008 and he is 32 years old. Because Matt Roth was second on the team in sacks last year with only five. Because Jason Taylor is more likely to sign with New England after the draft. Because Cameron Wake has great pass-rush potential but has shown it only in the CFL.

Legit question. At the right price, I'd like him and a draftee at the position better than Peppers. Well, I'd feel more confident, I guess. Peppers would be amazing at OLB if it could get done, but a 23 or 24 year old at the position would be nice, too.

I'm sure we need him and I know I want him on the team, Unless Vrabel's replacement is hiding somewhere on the current roster - and I don't think he's there (and when I say Vrabel's replacement, I mean a veteran Leader that can produce results immediately).

Re: Armando Salguero: Taylor more likely to sign with Pats.
Yeah I read that he will most likely be signed by a team after the draft. Which to me implies that his signing is MIGHT be dependent what takes place during the draft guess we'll just have to sick back and watch!

Do they really need JT? Are you serious? The Pats really struggled getting after the QB last season and JT would add an instant boost to the pass rush on 3rd downs. But do the Pats really want JT? I think it all depends on the outcome of the draft or if they can acquire Julius Peppers (which I think will happen right before or on draft day).

Re: Armando Salguero: Taylor more likely to sign with Pats
I think there has been a lot of speculation going on with the South Florida media and not a lot of actual inside knowledge. Last week the storylines were that the Dolphins and Taylor were working on a two year deal and this week it is the Dolphins have no interest in bringing him back.
No matter where Taylor lands, it won't be until after the draft. I don't think he has any interest in joining a team until late May/June. I think he wants want to stay in FL with his family and not have to workout with the team he is joining. Not ideal for any team acquiring him, but as long as he is working out to stay in football shape it isn't the worst thing in the world.

Thing is, the only offer Taylor would probably see from the Pats is a vet-minimum or near that for only one or two years. Taylor has already been on record as saying that he, "doesn't feel he's a minimum kind of guy". Would I take Jason Taylor on this team? Sure I would. But do I think he will be in a Pats uniform next year? Nope.

Out of curiosity, what makes you think that Taylor would be a leader for the Pats? Not to speak negatively of him or anything--he's obviously a very talented guy--but expecting anyone to come in and fill Vrabel's shoes in that regard overnight is asking a bit much IMO. Personally, I think that any leadership void from Rodney's and Vrabel's departure will be filled within the current roster. With Wilfork, Seymour, Warren, Thomas, Mayo, Hobbs, Sanders, and Meriweather, there are quite a few starters out there on D who have been around the block a few times.
