Think about it people. BB & co don't leak information to the press. With a few exceptions, they justifiably hate the press.

The only time a rumor might turn out true is when the author of that rumor has a thorough understanding of Belichick. There aren't too many of those around but the Jason Taylor rumor fits the mold. That signing makes sense. BB likes veterans and Taylor has always been complementary of the Patriots.

The Peppers deal...Forget about it. It's not happening. It doesn't make sense on any level and it came from a guy who has no track record for understanding Belichick.

Wow, that is some bulletproof logic. Can't possibly argue with that. After all, the Pats are the only ones who would be privy to the workings of the situation. Yes indeed.

Alright, let me polish it off...

If Peppers comes here, he will make less than Tom, by a good deal. he would NOT become our star defensive player. That's Vince. So he must be paid in accordance with that. If he won't accept those terms, it won't happen.

If Taylor comes here, it will be an annual decision thereafter, making his contract cap-safe every year. If he can effective rush the passer on third downs better than TBC, great. Sign him up. Even if he's a little overpaid, it's only for one year.

It could be just as easy to draft someone and evaluate the guys we already have as well.

WRITE THIS DOWN (I love that)...

If Peppers tuns up here, regardless of the pick traded, the contract will be reasonable or it just won't happen. And Bill himself could be on TV saying "we're trying to trade or Peppers" and it wouldn't guarantee it happens.

So how's about we fire up the Trade Brady thread again, instead? We know he's healthy and could probably get us two more second rounders..... lol.
