So many reports of Tank and his "special" role last year... is September the month we finally get to see it first hand ?

I'm glad their giving Tank another chance.

For people worried about salary cap, it doesn't apply to the Pats. They are planning for an uncapped year in 2010 and their franchise is the most dominant in terms of revenue throughout sports. Money will not be an issue for the Pats in an uncapped world. This will only affect small market teams.

Glad to see Tank coming back. I really think he could help in a S/LB hybrid role, and it's unfortunate we didn't get to see that last season.

Cowboys, Giants, Redskins & Yankees are right there too.

Scouting Report - Tank Williams

Assets: Hard-hitting safety who can be a force against the run. Has sideline-to-sideline range and plays the run with a mean streak. Chiseled athlete with excellent track-and-field speed. Blows people up and intimidates receivers.

Flaws: Comes and goes in coverage. A long strider who takes a step or two to get into high gear. Will go for the big crunch and miss some tackles.

Career potential: Solid starter.

At only 28 the defense gets even younger and faster. This guy was a starter before his knee problems. So there's a lot of potential here. I think or rather hope he takes over sanders' spot.
