Is this guy any good?

I heard the Jets want him.

Thoughts.

At the Pats' first Super Bowl parade, he led a chant of "Yankees suck!"

Does anyone have any memories of him making a play on D?

The only big defensive play I ever remember Izzo making was picking off Travis Brown of the Bills in the endzone to preserve the 31-0 shutout in the last game of the 2003 season. He's basically just a really good special teamer that hardly sees the field on D.

He picked off a pass in the EZ in the 2003 season finale to preserve a 31-0 shutout against the Bills. He's strictly a ST guy, the only reason he was playing defense was because it was 31-0.

BostonHerald.com - Blogs: The Point After Blog Archive Izzo signs with Jets

Veteran linebacker and special teams captain Larry Izzo has signed on to play with the New York Jets.

”I’d like to thank Mr Kraft, Coach Belichick, and the entire Patriots organization — coaches, staff and fans — for being so supportive during my 8 yrs in New England,” Izzo wrote in an email. ”It was an incredible honor to play with so many talented players who have become lifelong friends.

”Having spent my entire career in the AFC East, I’m very familiar with the Jets’ incredibly loyal, knowledgable and passionate fans and this is an amazing chance to work hard and make them proud.”

good special teams player.

the patriots didnt need him. with the amount of draft picks we have, we are going to have more than the normal amount of rookies on our roster, so Im sure we are planning to have them play special teams. the 1 dimensial players like Izzo, who only plays ST's, have to go and must be replaced by players who can play ST's and either offense or Defense.
