What you're saying is you think he's only worth a second rounder. That's ridiculous. And I think he's a safer bet than Sanchez at #1, anyway.

Kiper needs to speak to Tom Jackson. Jackson would point out to him that Cutler is better than a healthy Tom Brady. So there is no way in hell that Cassel could be better than Cutler.

I said two high second round picks. Cassel comes with a big contract and I'm not saying what I think he's worth but what I would trade him for. I would trade him "below value" because we gain $14+M in the process so there's additional value we gain in the trade.

Obviously I would take more than that if offered. But if we got two high #2s and saved the $14M that works for me.

The concession I would make is that KC's #2 is very close to 1st round and in this draft that equates to phenomenal value.

Ummm . . .

You said I undervalued him wanting Detroit's #2 this year and next then you say you're happy with just KC's #2 this year . . . and Detroit's #2 is higher than KC's.

Actually, I got interrupted in real life and didn't finish before hitting the submit button. KC's #2 this year and #1 next year is where I was headed.

Yep id take that as well. Or maybe KC's no #2, Tony G, and a #2 next year for MC and a 3rd

If I were the Vikes though I would be all over Cassel at pick 19. I mean they are a decent QB away from a legit SB run, they have the best RB in the NFL and their OLine is better than NE's. I like MC and kinda hopes he ends up there

Vikings or TB would be where I'd send him if it were that simple, hehe.

I think if KC makes a bid, we'll have a sudden, clear idea of just how good he is projected to be.

Nice to hear praise for Matt, but I always got the impression Mel Kiper was viewed as kind of a joke by actual successful team managers and coaches. That's why his "reaches" are usually kind of scoffed at.

Doesn't mean the Lions wouldn't listen to him though, they seem to like the popular picks

Wow. Well if we get that great but I think you're whistling in the wind right there.
