During a chat with one of ESPN's scouts this question was asked by somebody, nothing to get overly excited about but is kind of intresting...

It sounded to me on the conf call he had with the press prior to the game last week it sounded like he wanted to be Patriot. He definitely wants out of Oakland.

You never know, a chance to play for a winning team, he might take less money to come play here. Heck, I think a lot of players want out of Oakland!

When you hear him talk you could tell he really wants to be on a successful team that has alot of structure. He's going to find a way out of Oakland one way or another IMO hopefully BB and Pioli can get him in a Pats uni next season.

Unless BB has had a "come-to-jesus" about his secondary, I just don't see it happening, unless Asomugha took a decent pay cut to play with TfB & Co. It would make the d look a hell of a lot better real quick:
Asomugha, Ellis, Merriweather, Sanders?, Vrabel, Bru/Jr?, MAYO, AT, Seymour, Wilfork, Warren. Given, Vrabel is on the decline, and clearly the same for Bru/Jr. Might be able to throw Seymour on the over the hill crowd, but I think he's been playing pretty well in hindsight. In any case, that would be one hell of a defense. Maybe upgrade at S and let the big boys pin their ears back every now and then and try to kill whoever is dropping back...not to mention the improvement of Wilhite (ok, after Deltha O'No, anyone would be an upgrade), and promising play of that other smurf who broke his one good arm...(forgive me, Mr. Daniels is aiding a lapse in memory) If that did happen, I think we would see the more creative NE defense of 03-04 years than the more plain vanilla Cover type we've been watching of late.

Asomugha plays for the Oakland Raiders. He is probably (about 99.99999999999999999999999%) going to get franchised. After the Jordan and Moss relocations, do people really think Davis would trade the guy to New England?
