Default Is it too early for Steeler talk

Well some are gloating and other are going crazy about trade scenario from madden after just 1 game .anyway is it too early to talk about the next opponent.

This is a very pivotal game for us . If we win we get a good chance that the steelers wheel will fall off or should i say ben`s shoulder.

Ben is not himself and playing with a lot on injuries. the OL is not doing anything to protect him.

Their strength is to run and we are actually good against it so the matchup fav us.

Ben will throw but he has a bum shoulder which gives a bit more chance for a INT and holds on alot longer.

They do not have a fast RB so the ILB in coverage can actually do some damage.

Now they are not scoring alot so the goal is to hang in their and pull away in the 3rd and 4th quater when their Pass rush for that matter any team pass rush slows.

No huddle and fast pace offense which can move the ball in the first quater is important. we need to get thier big boys running and breathing hard.even if we do not get points or end up with field goals move the chain fast enough to wear them down by the end of 3rd or 4th quater. then RUN and Pass .

Do not turn the ball over or hold it for too long in the first quater as field position is going to be key so no sacks. punting is better than punting with a 20 yd loss.

I've been looking forward to this game ever since BJGE punched in the final td @ Miami.

Ben has been alot better since the Indy game. Hasn't turned it over and hes hitting his throws with success. They were against weak defenses but they exist nonetheless. Holmes and Ward pose a major threat to our weak corners and Miller to the middle of our pass defense, or lack thereof. It's not a favorable matchup unless we can dominate in the trenches.

Last year we had a rough first half against this team on both sides but managed to come out with the lead thanks to the trick plays and an early RZ stop, then TFB just took over with the intermediate passes in the 2nd half to counter their pressure and we pulled away. This year, we cannot afford to 'sneak out' of the 1st half we need to spread em and hit em with those intermediate passes early and often.

This might be the scariest defense we face all year. That said, if Matt is studied up and able to keep from being tricked, I think Welker and Faulk will KILL them. They'll corner-blitz, but I doubt they'll do it at the risk of leaving Moss alone with a safety very often.

The Dolphins game was big. Winning made this game HUGE.

Squeeler games have been a lot of fun thru the years.

I think you are correct in assesing that on the surface we appear to match up well against them.

They run well we stop the run well, they don't pass as well and we don't cover as well.

There Defense is going to be a huge test for this offense as the squeelers are # 1 against the pass # 1 against the run and # 1 in pts allowed.

I must admit that as much as I hate the squeelers and as much as I hate Troy polomalo (intentionally mis-spelled) he is nasty and fun to watch. He can make some ridiculous plays especially inches from the turf. And he plays the game right. Is there any way we could get him, when is he a FA, I doubt they would let him go anyway but.............

I think we win as we need it more and I think Big Ben is to banged up to keep up with Cassel in the air. That was fun to write who would have thought you would be able to say that.

Actually, they average 3.6 YPC (ranked 26) versus our no-name game which averages 4.2 YPC (ranked 14).

I think we'll tear them a new one through the air and on the ground, but I think if they go to the air, we're in trouble.

Yes but Willie Parker is back now well at least he was for that Colts game I didn't watch much of the Bengals game.

This is a must win... If they lose, I think that puts us 'out of the hunt' and onto the recliner... Should be a good game, for which obvious reasons, I hope the Pats win...

Ben struggles and I'm not so sure about their OL? I don't know but Ben's inconsistent at times to say the least so I predict some INT's for us.

I hope you're right. It's true that this is a team that could help our guys pad their sack stats. Still, I know I'll be white-knucklin' a couch pillow until the final whistle.

The fact is that his yards per carry this year is 3.8, not even league average.

Check out the stats. Don't pay any attention to the BSPN hype machine. They have favorites and act like thier guys are great, but the Steeler running game this year is subpar, and Parker is part of the reason (their OLine is the biggest reason, IMO).

I see the Pats running better than the Steelers this Sunday.
