At weei.com they interview Bradys long time coach. He says Brady could struggle early, like Manning, then get better as he plays. Will the Patriots fans give Brady that chance, like colt fans did for Manning? Will Patriots fans be on Brady even worse then they are now?

How about answering this question. If Brady is out for an extended period of time during the next season (a distinct possibility), would you be fine with O'Connell starting at qb given the scenario of Cassel being traded?
Actually, on the issue of trading Brady, I think the following statement sums up my opinion quite nicely:
Re: The Official 'Trade Brady' Debate Thread - Do Not Start Another One
After seeing this thread survive near the top of the Board for many weeks, I finally decided to open it.
To me, the subject is like trying to nail a lemon merangue pie to a plate glass window.
1) We don't know whether TB will be able to: a) start at full strength from Game One in 2009; b) start at less than full strength in Game One but return to his old form sometime during the season; c) start sometime during 2009 but not return to his old form until 2010; d) start in 2009 but never return to his old form; e) not start at all in 2009 with a big question mark over his future; f) ever play again (the latter is probably not very likely, as he will almost certainly play again).
2) We also don't know whether there was a rift between the Pats and Brady over his decisions related to the surgery. There were many rumors and then, of course, both sides denied that there was any problem (what else would you expect them to do?). But we don't know. My own guess (as good as anyone else's) is that the Pats were rightly miffed that Brady went against their wishes related to the surgeon and surgery facility and that they got even more miffed when the complications developed, but that everyone has calmed down).
So, until we know something, there's not much point in discussing a trade, unless we want to spin endless hypothetical scenarios.

This thread is lame.
Scout, like this thread, and Like Hoodie, has jumped the shark. For that matter, the saying "jumped the shark" has jumped the shark.
