Default Super Bowl or loss to Indy in AFC title the year before?

Which knaws at you more? last night NFL Network torchered me with that thing again. Up 21-3. the Bears waiting. Up 34-31. The defense wilts.

At least last year we got there. We took our shot. The Giants beat us fair and square.

There is no way the Patriots should have lost to the Colts in 2006. We were better. We were up. Would have KILLED the Bears.

ok....im alright now.......

The Colts game stings much worse, we freakin had it and folded plus on the 2nd to last drive the refs let Brown and Graham get pulled down without throwing a flag after they had flagged Brown for offensive PI and Hobbs for defensive PI earlier in the game.

another reason i want to see the Patriots beat them down, go 6-2, leave them 3-5, with Matt Cassel at QB!!!

Believe it or not those games are indirectly helping our '08 team. We stocked our roster with a lof of offensive talent after the AFC title game loss. Now that talent is helping our backup QB find his legs. We (finally) started the youth movement on D after SB42 and I'm glad to see a lot of young guys contributing this early in the season.

Personally I think because of SB42, this team is still driven to win the Super Bowl, even with Cassel. If they had gone 19-0 last year I don't think the players would be as committed to a Super Bowl run with a backup QB.

I'd say the colts game hurt more at the time, but the superbowl still haunts me, I still have delusions of assante picking off that pass or AT sacking Eli on 3rd and 5.

On a lighter note I too watched the nfl replay of the game last night, I forgot how hilarious Reche Caldwell looks haha

As a Colts fan that AFCCG was about the most amazing game I ever saw. At halftime I was numb. I could not believe it. I think I almost passed out in the 4th quarter.

And yes we all pretty much knew whoever won the AFC was going to likely beat the Bears. The NFC was bad that year.

THe AFCCG loss bothered me, but I got over it. The SB loss was much much worse. It still bothers me to this day. It makes me sick just thinking about it.
