It's not that uncommon for announcers to hint at the point spread or over/under, especially in one-sided games.
You'd never hear it in a close game, because the announcers have a meaningful game to call. If a team is threatening to score near the end of a blowout, they may allude to the gambling aspect.
I thought it was interesting that Madden and Michaels seemed like they were inconvenienced that the Patriots didn't just let the clock run out inside of 2 minutes. On the drive before that, with about 5 minutes to go, Madden was going on about how Cassel needs to run the no huddle and the coaches need to let him do it to get experience. When they let him do that on the final drive, the announcers seemed a little put off that they had to work longer.
