Default My Week 2 game balls go to . . .

  • Matt Cassel. He did everything the Patriots asked him to do--make plays when appropriate, and not turn the ball over. He wasn't Brady of 2007, but he was definitely Brady of 2001, and I won't ask for more.
  • Brandon Meriweather. Comes down with his first INT, and sets up the Pats for a score.
  • Adalius Thomas. I don't care how he performed the rest of the game: Thomas' sack was the single most impressive sack I have seen since Vrabel tried for a safety against Donovan McNabb in the Super Bowl.
  • Stephen Gostkowski. He absolutely murdered the ball on the kickoffs: I could almost hear him saying "Return this, RATS!" [And a bonus shout-out to Raymond Ventrone, the Human Bullet, for stopping the JEST at the 20 the one time they dared to run it out.]
  • A special ball to the entire team. Zero turnovers, and a grand total of 10 penalty yards. Couldn't ask for much more.

How about Bill Belichick for a game ball? He clearly out coached the Manidiot. Ya know the guy everyone says can't win a game w/o TB.

Exactly you forgot Kevin The Man. The chain mover, as usual, huge on those screens, returns and blitz pickups. He's the best friend Matt Cassel can have right now out there. Nice to have you back Kevin............

His acceleration into the open seams is uncanny, too bad LM can't seem to do the same.........Lamont Jordan was great today, he's making a case for more snaps.

OK. Fine.

[Pointing to Kevin Faulk:] You get a game ball!
[Pointing to Randy Moss:] You get a game ball!
[Pointing to Jerod Mayo:] You get a game ball!
etc.

Moss was the only guy on that list that was not a real big part of the game but hopefully will be within a few weeks
