Default While there's still time to build our cheering confidence...

Who here can hand out some genuinely positive analyses of Cassel from the pre-season? I thought I watched him suck and toss his job away and was obviously wrong.

Did we see a big arm, an improvement in looking off, and/or better accuracy? Were there more issues with drops/fup duck route running or anything that any of your analytical minds noticed?

I've been curious about this. What did he do right and can it boost our confidence?

i cant remember anything +ve was said for cassel. lot of us wanted to cut him after week one .
i think if the o line steps up then cassel can be okay.he will make the bonehead rookie mistakes but thats expected. iam just worried our oline is built for a quick decision maker like brady and someone who can move around in the pocket. also remember, brady has take a A LOT of hits before last sunday. We didnt concern ourselves a lot until it became catastrophic.

SVN, what is "+ve"? I've been trying to figure that one out.

Positive. It's an incorrect but common short form.

I'd think "+" would do it, but meh, I dunno.

He retained Bill's confidence. It's that simple. He was told throughout the pre season that he was doing what they wanted him to and they had no issues with his performance. Which says a lot about the surrounding cast, too... We saw a little of that in the first couple of series with Brady...

As the preseason went along, Cassel stopped making false reads.

I think it was in the 2nd game where he audibled at the line, looked right, looked left and aborted a throwing motion, then came back right and threw an interception (that might have been dropped, I forget).

In the 3rd and 4th games his reads and decisions looked a lot "cleaner," like he was getting better pre-snap and snap reads on where to go with the ball.

We've only seen Cassel work in one recent regular season game, so its a little early to tell, but if he keeps making smart and timely decisions in the pocket we can thank Philly, Tampa Bay et al for blitzling the **** out of us in the preseason, it gave Cassel some free regular season experience.
