I have three observations to make.
Cassel played as Belichick and a few of us and virtually no other fans thought he could. He runs the Patriots Offense, not an ad-hoc running around and creating-something-thing, that a raw QB would do.
That is what BB saw, and why BB kept him, even if fans couldn't see it. It DOES make a difference if you are playing with your first teamers against their first stringers. Rather than your thirds against their firsts, as happened in the Pre-season to Cassel.
The second point I would make is that KC was picking on Rodney Harrison. He has lost more than a couple of steps. By the end of the season he will be sitting, I predict. KC turned the corner on several WR quick screens even though Rodney was there to make the play and didn't. They just ran away from him.
The young LBs looked good and Tedy still senses where to go even if he can't get there quickly anymore. Mayo looked good, for his first game. Four sacks reveals that the Pats have not lost their pass rush.
