The Patriots have Benjamin Watson, David Thomas and Stephen Spach on the roster at tight end. Watson has recently been held out practice due to an undisclosed injury.

Pociask was a fifth-round draft choice of the Jets in 2006 out of Wisconsin.

...6'3", 259 lb. TE...drafted 5th round by the Jets in 2006...spent the 2006 season on injured reserve...spent the entire 2007 on the Jets' 53-man roster, and was active for 4 games...

What is it with Watson? Every year this guy has some kind of injury.
Don't get me wrong. I love how the guy plays, but it seems like he's good for one or two injuries a year. Oh well, that's life in the NFL.

This is insurance for Watson. Wouldn't be surprised if Pociask was cut within the first couple weeks. Stop acting like this is ruining your life or that this means the Pats are DOOMED
