The Patriots should re-sign Edelman and Arrington to cover their
butts before free agency begins but they won't. They will tender
an offer to Hoomanawanui because the offer is not guaranteed.

I put more than 5, because we've already brought in two in Armstead and Vega, and I think we'll bring back 3 or 4 of the lower end guys before they hit free agency.

Please no Cole and Kout. The last thing this team needs is ST guys who can't backup any other position.

The Patriots have been overachievers the past two years. It doesn't have the talent to compensate for injuries, and it wins so much because it puts in 99% effort in the regular season and plays with terrific schemes to mask its deficiencies.

But in the playoffs a good team at 99% will not beat emotional, talented teams that play at 100%. It's what happened against the Giants in 2011 and the Ravens in 2012.

Ballard will probably replace HooHoo. I agee on Cole and Koutouvides. They are low
grade free agents. Concentrate on the big three and Thomas, Edleman, , Woodhead, and
Arrington. The rest of our free agents are irrevelant.

Why don't we need "low-grade" free agents who know our system for camp?

Ballard will be our #3 TE.

Who will be our #4, our backup. I suggest that Ballard, Fells and Hoohoo should compete in camp.

I would prefer to see the Patriots fill the major deficiencies on this team
like starting cornerback and starting wide receiver before re-signing special teams players. Cole and Koutouvides are not adequate starters. I don't
expect our "low grade" free agents to be snapped up quickly by other NFL
teams.
