Does Wes Welker play for the Patriots in 2013?

Well he did play in the two Playoff games at the beginning of this year , as for the new season beginning in sept i highly doubt that he will be with the Pats .

I hope he does, but I have this sinking feeling that the two sides won't come to an agreement. And I don't think the Pats franchise him at $11M.

I voted no. I love the guy, he was a warrior for the Pats, one of the all-time great Patriots. But the Pats are not going to pay him top 10 receiver money. Greatest slot receiver of all time, but they will use the money to get other receivers, and hopefully resign Edelman to pick up some of the slack. Love the guy, but I can't see a long term deal getting done, especially with Welker being 32.

I have the exact same felling as well.

I just think its a combination of age, him outplaying his age and outplaying what is reasonable to pay a WR when we invested so much in Gronk and Hernandez. I too agree the 11 mil is too steep but I also think the years he will want and has earned will be to steep too.

I think welker stays even though his big payday might not happen this year. Come on would you rather play with tommy for a few million less and a greater chance for a ring than some other rival????

no...he will be gone...sucks but it is what it is. Some team will overpay for him and pats can get someone like harvin who is only 24

The problem with this line of thinking is that Welker is a UFA. He could theoretically go to a team that has just as good of a shot at winning the big one.
