I'd like to apologize. I know I was completely into dismantling the entire thing last night. I was incredibly frustrated. I stand by some of the things I have said, but hoping for Brady and Belichick to retire was just my knee jerk reaction to another gut wrenching loss.
I DO think we need to figure out why we can't run on teams when we need 2 yards. We DO need a WR that can go up and grab a ball or go long. We need fresh eyes and opinions on the coaching staff, not bringing back retreads like Brian Daboll.
However, destroying the whole thing is the wrong way to go about it. Sorry for being so douche-y to some of you last night.

I see all these threads that question Belichick and even Brady on here today.
I just want to remind you that before Bob Kraft, Bill Belichick and Tom Brady came together that this franchise never won a Superbowl.
Yes it hurts when the team loses in the playoffs. I'm gutted today but I realise that what has been going on in Foxboro for the last 14 years or so is just incredible.
So to all those who question things after a playoff loss I say get real. Our team has multiple divisional titles and is one of the favourites for the Superbowl every year. This will not last forever so enjoy the ride and remember that when Belichick and Brady go we are most likely going to see many baron years with losing seasons.
Please refrain from the stupidity of suggesting that Bill Belichick is not the greatest coach in the NFL. Please refrain from questioning how clutch the greatest QB of all time is.
Please just realise that you have been pampered by the greatness of these people if you only came along supporting this team in the last 15 years.
Simple solution, turn off your computer. Season is over, now we can play GM....that's how fan message boards work. And it seems you use the term "greatest" very loosely. I guess you are allowed to make proclamations and those can't be argued.

Cool that you admitted that. I wasn't reading the board last night so I am not among the group you are apologizing to.
That said, we all get emotional at times, and the Pats losing really hurts.
So while I don't know you other than reading some of your posts recently, I think most people can forgive overly emotional posting at this time.
Go Pats!
Oh, and you're right. They need to be able to better in many phases, and need to address certain serious deficiencies. Anyone who doubts that should be forced to re-watch that abomination of a game.
Maturity brings perspective...When I was younger, I took every lose wayyy too hard. Now, I realize it's just a game. I don't get a million dollar bonus if the Pats win..it really doesn't effect my life.
Sports is supposed to be entertainment. I love watching important games, it gives me pleasure. Play-offs game are great. We are so lucky here to be able to watch meaningful games for over decade now with this team,..boy are we spoiled. All a fan should ask for is for their favorite team to be solid and have a great opportunity to go deep into the play-offs year in and year out. We have that with the Patriots..enjoy it.

That right there, perplexes me. 3rd and 2 seems to always be a pass play. It's been going on for several games. So predictable. Bad game planning all around. IMO. If you are a "finesse team", play with finesse.

Some see our season and the past few years and see failure and want to fire Belichick. Others celebrate a great season, even with our disappointments. One chooses whether 31 teams should be tearing their hair out. That is your choice. It is an attitude toward life. We all have different perspectives.
Yes, we should analyze what went wrong and what improvements we need to make the 2013 even better than 2012.
The reality is that yesterday, we were beaten by a better team, although obviously we would have been better with GRonkowski and Talib in there.
In terms of getting to the playoffs/superbowl and losing: Once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence, and three or more times is a pattern.
While there is no need to blow up the entire team, there is definitely a need to reflect and figure out what is causing the above mentioned pattern.
Everyone has noticed that Brady's performance suffers in post season. Drafting his eventual successor to be Brady's back up for now could fix Brady's post season slump in a hurry. Nothing like your replacement breathing down your neck to light a fire under your ass.
Give Brady better weapons. He needs receivers he can throw to and count on to hold on to the ball and move it forward. I'm sorry, I think Welker should go, or at the very least be "demoted" to second or third option. I was at the game last night and cringed when Welker consistently dropped passes in warm up. It did not bode well for the upcoming game.
Branch is finished, as much as I like him. So he needs to be replaced. And why do the Patriots have to have these shrimps as WR's that are difficult to target as soon as the opposing D raises their arms to block a pass?
Beefing up the secondary and working on getting consistency on pass rush would also go a long way.
Finally, there is merit to what some have said about the Belichick way being too clinical and emotion-less. It worked well while the Pats were a juggernaut and laid out opponents on a regular basis. It's now time for a little more fire and brimstone. The team needs to feel passion and needs to be allowed to vent some of that on and off the field. Trash talking can sometimes do wonders in terms of gaining confidence.
LOL.......one has nothing to do with the other......this idea that people should be glad they don't suck and that relatively speaking, there is nothing to talk about is flat out stupid. since 2004, the bottom line result has not been that much different from the period from 1985 to 1996......they lost the SB twice...granted there we lousy years between 1985 and 1996, but what do we really have here and now? a team that's prone to falling flat on its face in the playoffs......
I've been going to pats games since they moved to foxboro......I've watched them when they were good.....I've watched them when they suck.....I love watching every game regardless of their record......yes, it is better than they win, but either way, I am going to watch the next game.....
so if you're saying I should saying hail mary's to be thankful for 'the way things are', the I say pffffft

That was frustrating. I think we just have bad plays designed for third and short. Also I think we need to use more timeouts before third-down plays, or huddle up every so often. That running play to Ridley on the second drive, anyone could see it coming a mile away.
It just sucks to fall short again because of seemingly solvable problems we've been having for awhile now.
Imagine if you could talk to your 2009 self about the Patriots right now. My 2009 self would probably ask (1) has the secondary improved and (2) does Brady have a deep threat? I could argue that both issues have been partially addressed, but if I was completely honest with myself, I would have expected more improvement from a coach like Bill Belichick and an owner like Robert Kraft in three years. I'm afraid to ask my 2015 self the same questions.
