ESPN.com reported on Thursday that James Dungy, the son of Indianapolis Colts Head coach Tony Dungy, was found dead in his apartment in Tampa Florida.
According to the report no foul play is suspected in his death, but a cause of death won't be announced until after an autopsy is performed.
The Colts head coach has reportedly left the team and is in Tampa, and according to team president Bill Polian assistant head coach Jim Caldwell will take over the duties in his absence.
"The thoughts and prayers of everyone in this building are with Tony and [wife] Lauren, their children and their extended family, and for the repose of James' soul," Polian said at a news conference at the Colts' training facility in Indianapolis. "This is a tragedy for the Dungy family and by extension his football family here with the Colts."
Our thoughts and prayers from everyone at PatsFans.com go out to the head coach as this is quite a tragedy to have to endure a mere three days before the holiday.
