2001 Patriots Preseason:

It may have been the final pre-season game at Foxboro Stadium, but the New England Patriots made it a memorable one. New England dominated the Washington Redskins on both sides of the football Thursday night, and sent the Redskins home with a 33-13 loss.

Warrick Dunn rushed for 115 yards, and Drew Bledsoe was sacked three times by a ferocious Tampa Bay Buccaneer defense, as the Bucs stifled the New England Patriots, 20-3 in a preseason game Saturday night.

Former first-round draft choice Andy Katzenmoyer will miss the 2001 season after Patriots head coach Bill Belichick announced Wednesday that he will have another surgical procedure on his neck within the next few days. He will then be placed on injured reserve which will keep him out for the entire season.

The Patriots defense put up yet another great performance as New England beat up on the Carolina Panthers 23-8 on Saturday night.
