Sunday’s game against the Jets wasn’t full of many highlights, but Jamie Collins was one of the few bright spots on an otherwise ugly afternoon.

The fact the Patriots even managed to force overtime came thanks to the veteran linebacker, who made a key play with just over three minutes to go in the third quarter that got New England back into the football game. Teammate Jabaal Sheard, who also had another terrific outing, helped force a turnover after hitting Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick’s arm and knocking the ball out while the Jets were deep in their own end.

Collins alertly swooped in and scooped up the football and returned it 14-yards for the touchdown, and suddenly the 17-6 deficit was 17-13.

Here’s a look at the play:

Collins also had a big game against the Titans last Sunday, including a 4th quarter interception that helped close out the game. He looks like he’s beginning to settle back in after missing time this season with an undisclosed illness, which is good news for a Patriots team that is going to need more plays like this in the weeks to come.
