Another familiar face on defense is staying with the New England Patriots.

On Tuesday, defensive lineman Lawrence Guy re-signed with the team on a four-year, $11.5 million contract.

ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss shared details of Guy’s new contract.

An 11-year NFL Veteran, Guy has played in 62 regular season (60 starts) and seven postseason games for the Patriots, helping the team win a Super Bowl championship in 2018.

In 2020, Guy was named a team captain and started all 14 games he played, finishing the season with 57 total tackles, two sacks and one fumble recovery. Over his last four years in Foxborough, Guy has logged 235 total tackles with seven sacks.

Last spring, Guy was named a member of the Patriots 2010’s All Decade Team for his contributions.

Following the news of his new contract, Guy shared his reaction in a funny post to Instagram.
