As the New England Patriots and Denver Broncos get set to square off for yet another chapter in their lengthy rivalry with each other, quarterback Tom Brady and Broncos linebacker Von Miller also prepare for their “head to head” matchup on opposite sides of the ball.
On Instagram this week, Brady shared a photograph of himself and Miller from last seasons game along with a caption that said “All eyes on Sunday…#72 Hours”
In a response Friday , Miller shared his own photograph of the two during a game along with a homage to “Star Wars” in a caption that read “Return of the Jedi/Episode 9”.
In recent seasons Miller has contributed to Brady’s extensive struggles in Denver over his career, while winning two AFC Championships along the way. In eight career games vs Brady, Miller has logged 7.5 sacks, most notably the 2.5 sack performance in the 2015 AFC Championship game.
Speaking with the media this week in Denver, Miller had nothing but admiration and respect for Brady, going as far as even calling him the “G.O.A.T.” or Greatest of All Time.
“I’m going against the G.O.A.T. There’s two types of emotions you can have going against the best. You can have the emotion of, ‘Oh, man. This guy is great. He’s going to do this. He’s going to do that.’ Then you go into the game expecting that.
“Or you can have the emotion of, ‘I’m going against the best. I’m going to go out there and play lights out so I can show everybody what we’re about, show everybody that we are great, too.’ That has been my mentality since 2011, when I came into the National Football League.”
