Oh what a “first world problem” it has been for the New England Patriots this offseason when it came to trying to find a place for the team to fit its five Super Bowl championship banners inside Gillette Stadium.
Speaking back at the start of Training Camp, team owner Robert Kraft stated “We had no more room to put banners so we had to change the construction around, so we have a surprise for our fans.”
That surprise has remained under wraps until opening night on September 7th, but construction in Foxboro the past couple weeks has offered hints at just where the banners will in fact end up.
On Monday, the team tweeted a picture of the south end zone’s “Gillette Stadium” sign being raised where it can be presumed the banners will be displayed below it with room for even more to come.
