Tom Brady Teams Up With Under Armour To Make “Recovery Sleepwear”
James Lang - USA TODAY Sports
At 39 years old, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is coming off of one of his finest seasons as a professional. Depite missing four games due to suspension, Brady set an NFL record with the best touchdown to interception ratio in NFL history (28 to 2) and moved into fourth place on the NFL’s all time passing list with 61,582 yards to go along with another 14-2 regular season.
Many fans are left wondering how Brady has been able to accomplish those feats at such an old age for football, well besides his rather interesting diet, Under Armour released his “Recovery Sleepwear” this week in the hopes of offering another scientific explanation for Brady’s successes.
Speaking in an interview with Sports Illustrated’s Tim Newcome, Brady had this to say about the gear;
“I really care about the function and coverage is very important. I want to be covered from ankles to wrists to neck,” he says. “The sleepwear I wear is so critical to how I recover every night.”
“I definitely feel the difference,” he says. “I have noticed it. I have been fortunate to not have it and now to have it and be able to compare. I know the different injuries you sustain, the bumps and bruises and how well they recover now and how well they recovered four years ago. I’m doing it because I believe in it. I think if it is helpful and functional and makes sense, that is definitely what (product) is about.”
If you’re interested in trying out Brady’s sleep method, it will cost a pretty penny, for a pair of shorts or a shortsleeve shirt they start at $79.99 while the full length clothing goes for $99.99 on the Under Armour website.
