Which Receivers Caught the Most 3rd Down Passes From Tom Brady in 2016?
Ken Blaze - USA TODAY Sports
Wrapping up the regular season totals, here’s a rundown of which Patriots receivers had the most third down receptions and conversions both overall and down in the red zone from Tom Brady in 2016.
BRADY’S TOTALS:
Overall: 82-of-123 (67%) for 1289-yards 11TDs, 1 INT
Red Zone: 10-of-19 (53%) for 79-yards 7TDs, 1 INT
Here’s a look at the numbers for each of the receivers who caught all of those passes:
Julian Edelman’s numbers are other-worldly outside of the red zone, with the veteran receiver converting 20 of the 23 receptions he made, as well as two touchdowns. He was a perfect 4-of-4 targeting Dion Lewis, although Lewis had just one conversion. But another thing that stands out is the fact that Brady missed Bennett just twice all season, as well as just once with Danny Amendola and all three of Bennett’s Red Zone receptions were touchdowns.
