Patriots – Jets II Keys, Who Has the Razor’s Edge?
HOME > Patriots Blog > Patriots Commentary
Prediction:
This game on paper should be another nail biter where both teams know each other well and being divisional rivals, the scores are always close. Since the Butt Fumble game, a touchdown or less has been the difference in each game. But this one has a different feel to it. The Jets season is over at 4-10 and the players know that big changes are coming this spring. Many of these players won’t be here next season.
It is imperative from a Patriots standpoint to get off to a quick start. The Jets folded up their tents last week in Miami’s blowout win. They’ll be looking to ruin the Patriots chances for home field advantage like they did in 2015. But a couple of quick scoring drives by Brady could have them thinking of heading home to open Christmas presents early. Opposing QBs have a passer rating of 100.2 against the Jets this season. Look for Brady to continue that trend on Saturday.
I expect the Patriots to put a lot of different looks defensively on Petty. That’s why it is imperative for them to stop the running game and force the ball into the young QB’s hands. Brady and the running game will have big days. The Jets check out early for Christmas vacation and this one breaks the mold of close games. Patriots 31-14
