Last week the Westgate Las Vegas Superbook released their NFL Week 3 early ‘look ahead’ advanced lines, and the New England Patriots have been installed as a 3½-point favorite at home versus the Houston Texans. As is always the case with advanced lines, those odds could (and almost assuredly will) change after this weekend’s game – sometimes dramatically based on injuries, and other times more subtly based on either superior performances or underwhelming performances.

As for today’s Week 2 game the Pats are currently favored by 6 or 6½ points over Miami depending on where you shop, and Houston is favored by one point by in many venues (including the Westgate LV). Quite a few locations have the Texans giving away only one and a half points at home to Kansas City, with at least one (Peppermill) going with Houston favored by two points.

This week the Patriots have been bet up to 6½ points over Miami after opening at five point favorites. The Dolphins far exceeded the expectations of most when they lost at Seattle 12-10, which makes that line movement a bit odd; apparently the betting public was more swayed by New England’s upset victory at Arizona. The Seahawks entered as 10½ point favorites but won in front of their ’12th man’ by just two points in the final minute. Miami did not turn the ball over in that game, while also benefiting from two takeaways against the Hawks. Yes Kenny Stills dropped a sure touchdown, but it is making (or not making) plays like that one that define a good team versus a bad one. Seattle came up big in crunch time (stuffing Arian Foster near the goal line) while Miami could not get it done when it counted (a paltry 3/14 on third down, and not capitalizing on at least three legitimate scoring opportunities).

Here are the rest of the NFL Week 3 early advanced ‘look ahead’ lines.

Denver Broncos at Cincinnati Bengals (-4)
Oakland Raiders (-1½) at Tennessee Titans
Arizona Cardinals (-3½) at Buffalo Bills
Baltimore Ravens at Jacksonville Jaguars (pk)
Cleveland Browns at Miami Dolphins (-7)
Washington Snyders at New York Giants (-4)

Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers (-5½)
San Francisco 49ers at Seattle Seahawks (xx)
Los Angeles Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-3½)
Pittsburgh Steelers (-4½) at Philadelphia Eagles
New York Jets at Kansas City Chiefs (-4)
San Diego Chargers at Indianapolis Colts (-3)
Chicago Bears (-3) at Dallas Cowboys
