To no one’s surprise, Patriots head coach Bill Belichick had little to offer as it pertained to defensive end Chandler Jones, who was rushed to the hospital after the Boston Globe reported he suffered a “bad reaction” to synthetic marijuana Sunday morning.

Belichick came out to the podium and addressed the situation immediately, telling reporters on Thursday, “There’s nothing more important to me than the health and well-being of our players and staff,” he said.  “That’s the way it is with this organization and me personally, and I don’t think that will ever change.”  From there he deferred any further comments on the situation to the statement the team previously made about the situation.

When asked by local beat writer Mike Reiss about how the team might utilize Jones this weekend against Kansas City, Belichick’s bad mood was front and center when he sarcastically said, “We’ll find out on Saturday.  I can just Xerox you a copy of the gameplan [so you can] send it to Kansas City. Might be easier for all of us.”

So there you have it.  You can watch the video above from WBZ4 to hear more of his comments.

In the meantime, the team will hold practice later this morning as they continue preparing for the Chiefs, who they’ll face in the AFC Divisional round Saturday at Gillette Stadium.
