Patriots at Dolphins: Bill Belichick PostGame Transcript
Steve Mitchell - USA TODAY Sports
OPENING STATEMENT:
We obviously didn’t do enough things well enough today to win.  I thought that was right across the board.  We’ve got a lot of work to do before our next game, so that’s what we’ll do.  We’ll get back at it.
On the fact it was a conservative game plan with the team not throwing much in the first half and what the mindset coming in was offensively:
Same as it always. Move the ball and score points.
On the heavy focus in the first half on the run and how much of that was based on what Miami had shown defensively coming in:
I don’t know … I don’t know.
On if that was the idea going into the first half and if they were trying to pound the ball considering the fact they normally on the opposite end of that:
[Inaudible]
On his thoughts on Steven Jackson:
Yeah, I mean it was good to have him out there.  We’ll see…take a look at it.
On his thoughts on the offensive line:
I just said, I didn’t think we did anything well enough today.  So that includes everything.  Coaching, playing, offense, defense, special teams, everything.  So, that’s everything.
On if hitting the reset button is the message he gives the team after the losses heading into the postseason:
I just said, we have a lot of work to do.  That’s what we have.  We have a lot of work to do.
On if there was any consideration of taking Tom Brady out after the injury he suffered in the first half:
What are you talking about? Â I mean, everybody played.
On if once they get into the playoffs if home-field advantage is overrated:
You know, we don’t really have any control over that.  I mean, whatever it is, it is.  Wherever we play, we play.  We’ve just got a lot of work to do, so that’s what we’re going to do.
