In an effort to keep team “emergency lists” fresh, the New England Patriots worked out seven players on Monday as first reported by ESPN Boston’s Mike Reiss.
When Patriots bring players in for workouts, it is usually with intention of keeping emergency lists fresh. Part of thorough approach.

The players included;Â TE Cameron Clear, K Garrett Hartley, P Will Johnson, DB Garry Peters, K Matt Wile, LS Christian Young, P Cody Mandell, and LS Tyler Ott.
The special teams players were brought into Foxboro just in case of any future injuries but the Patriots are otherwise set at those respective positions with Stephen Gostkowski, Joe Cardona and Ryan Allen.
Due to a need at cornerback, the Patriots brought in undrafted rookie Garry Peters who spent the offseason in a training program with the Carolina Panthers but was later cut this past July.
According to further information on Peters courtesy of NESN’s Doug Kyed, “The cornerback ran a 4.61-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, and also had a 6.80-second three-cone, 4.00-second short shuttle, 32.5-inch vertical leap and 9-foot, 11-inch broad jump at 6 feet, 191 pounds.”
Tight End Cameron Clear, another undrafted rookie out of Texas A&M, was first signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers but has seen no game action in 2015 and was a member of the practice squad. He caught just nine passes for 76 yards during his collegiate career at Texas A&M.
