Patriots – Colts, Who Has the Razor’s Edge? Key Matchups
HOME > Patriots Blog > Patriots Commentary
Prediction:
The Patriots and Bill Belichick are playing this up as just another game on the schedule, albeit a big one against the team they played in the conference championship game last season. This one is much more important to the Colts, they’ve been curb-stomped by New England the last four times the teams have met and if they want to take that next big step, then this is the time to do it.
Andrew Luck will have to have a big game for the Colts to pull the upset here. He’s yet to figure out Belichick’s defense, much like his predecessor Peyton Manning struggled with early in his career. Eventually he’ll get it figured out, but will this be the week?
On the flip side, Tom Brady has no such issues with the Indianapolis defense, the last four times the teams have met, the Patriots have put up an average of 47.2 points per game. That puts a lot of strain on the opposing team, having to score on every possession just to keep up. Brady and the Patriots will offense will have another big game and for the NE QB, as much as he’ll down-play it, after all the tumultuous off-season fiasco he’s had to endure, this one is personal.
