FOXBORO, MA — New England has seen wide receiver Terry Glenn in trouble with the law as of late, but it appears that the Cleveland Browns have a problem of their own.
A warrant for arrest was issued on Friday for Browns tight end O.J. Santiago for possession of marijuana. The arrest warrant reportedly stemmed from an incident last month when Santiago and Browns rookie Gerard Warren attended a party in Pittsburgh with Steelers receiver Plaxico Burress.
He was arrested the morning of November 20 for carrying an unlicensed gun in his SUV, and after police searched the vehicle they found the marijuana.
As for the Browns they have issued a statement regarding the arrest.
“We have not received any new information from the Pittsburgh authorities,” said Cleveland Browns President and CEO Carmen Policy in the statement: “We anticipate O.J. Santiago being active for Sunday’s game with New England. We will have no further comment until Monday afternoon.”
Santiago has started seven straight games at tight end, and accompanied the team yesterday to Foxboro and is expected to play today against the Patriots.
