Saints RB is worse. Chris Ivory is their leading rusher and has accumulated almost all his stats in two games vs the Bucs and Panthers.
Green Bay is worse.
Chicago is worse
Colts are bad as well ( Considering Addai Health issues)
Seattle too.
I only looked at the top teams in each...
Great Read.
One thing I am suprised no one has brought up in the decision to go for it on fourth down, is our long snapping.
It was absolutley horrendous in the start of the game. Considering the pressure of the moment, I'm not surprised that Bill didn't want the game in the hands of Ingram.
You make some good points but I dissagree with the general direction.
Points allowed and Points Scored are the only meaningful way to rank defense / offense IMO. Yards can be incredibly deceiving, with San Diego being a prime example.
A quarterback can drive 80 yards down the field, throw...
I agree...but my point is that the odds of landing a probowl player actually increases as you trade down because you pick up more chances.
Id rather have 4 picks that each have a 25% chance to be a probowler than 1 pick that has a 50% chance.
I dont understand why people hate trading down.
When looking at the large picture and averages, trading down and aquiring more picks almost always results in the liklihood of landing better players.
Every year there are about 10 pro bowlers in the first round and 5 from the 2nd. The pro...
BJGE is a consistant downhill runner that has a little bit of power. He is not going to do as well against big physical defenses like Ravens / Steelers / Jets.
For those games its better if we spread them out and use woodhead to run the ball.
BJGE will fair better against quicker defenses...
I'm not a big fan of these unrealistic trade concepts, but it would be interesting to know why Shaun Rodgers is trying to be moved out of Cleveland.
Assuming his play is anywhere near his previous level, he wouuld allow us to do more of these unique looks.
I think it might have something to do with the fact we just played two very physical offenses that like to run the ball. Arrington is much more physical than Butler.
Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Butler become the starter when playing more finesse teams.
The crazy thing is, not only did we start 4 rookies on D, but they all played fantastic.
McCourty was our best cb and came up big in the 4th Q and OT.
Spikes was a tackling machine and impacted quite a few run plays.
Cunningham was our best player on D IMO.
Deadrick was stellar...
Pittsburg Defense is on another level IMO
You could make an argument that you prefer GB / NO defense style over Ravens / Jets Style. I think it depends on what type of offense you have as well as your opponent.
Just re-watched 4th Q and OT Defense. I was surprised by how well Fletcher played. He did a fantastic job sniffing out the dump offs to RB.
Aside from being quick, he really seemed to diagnose the plays well. Considering his best skill in college was rushing the passer I was surprised by how...
Cover 0 (True Single Coverage) is rarely run at the NFL. Almost all teams use their safeties in deep zones.
Saying Moss is covered by a safety when running a deep pattern is not double coverage. It is the same coverage that almost any WR running a deep pattern would get. If you want to call...
Actually Branch didn't break the contract, which is impossible to do.
He simply sat out, which is well within the rights of the contract. It's a similar right that allows nfl teams to terminate contracts early instead of honoring them till they end.
I can't believe anyone would have an issue with what Branch did. The Patriots abused their leverage by initially forcing him into a 5 year rookie deal (which is now illegal btw) What is a 21 year old rookie supposed to do? He had to sign it, even tho every other single 2nd rounder had a 4 year...
The entire Moss "Opening the field up" is incredibly overblown at this point in his career.
The concept of him always being double covered is rediculous. It is a product of normal every day coverage in the NFL. Any cover 2 defense that involves CB's playing man coverage is going to double a...
Edleman as the third string qb is not a realistic option for a number of reasons. The top two being that he isn't physically qualified and would take at least a year or two to even learn how to run a pro offense. (nevermind the fact that it would stunt his WR / Special teams role if he was...
