Hahaha, says the guy that just tried to prove a point with pure speculation and what if scenarios. My expectations are more realistic than the scenario you just spurted out. Keep on believing though if that makes you feel better.
Gotta love an Armchair GM trying to claim what is realistic /...
To me it seems like Asante is taking a subtle jab at Wes. Calling him out for being a hypocrite if gets the money, or possibly saying, "I told you so."
It's a completely true statement. People are entitled to rank Patriots as they see fit. In my mind, I'll always take Samuel over Welker. I could say the same thing to you. How do you expect anyone to take you seriously for liking Welker more than Samuel?
Why? He helped bring this team more rings than Welker ever did. I will always appreciate Samuel's efforts for that. He deserved the big pay day, I only wish it was with the Patriots. But that's a whole different beast.
Lets say your scenario happens. The Patriots resign Welker and spend draft resources on a outside receiver.
We hit the playoffs, start playing defenses with a pulse, and our offense for whatever reason (key player injury, not clicking, etc..) isn't putting up points.
Other team marches...
They have serious work to do either way. If they sign Welker they're going to have a huge amount of resources (Brady, Mankins, Welker, Gronkowski, Hernandez) tied up in the offense. I'd rather see Brady do more with less (which he is clearly capable of doing) than watch a bottom of the barrel...
You're going to insult another user for their age and level of schooling and then spout off that schoolyard bull?
"If your opinion isn't the same as mine it's wrong! It's the same level as Jets fans!"
No wonder why you have so many message board posts. With that ego you probably have...
Too bad none of that has carried over to the playoffs with Welker in the playoffs. Time for Brady to suck it up and get on without his best friend, vacation buddy Wes the 'BM' Welker.
I mean seriously, Brady already has enough weapons on offense to win. Gronkowski, Hernandez, Ridley, Vereen...
This type of post makes me cringe. The Patriots have had an awesome run the past decade+ and are currently a top organization. But saying that Belichick trading for him to come here is some kind of gift for him and he should just give up money to play here? Give me a break, get off your high...
You mad? I could tell you had low standards for secondary players considering your infatuation with Nate Ebner. Rookies are not someone you can rely on as, "reasonably decent instant starters." At any position really, that includes corners and safeties. As for the other corners you mentioned all...
Who cares, the guys with the drug / character problems play a hell of a lot better than the good guy, Nancy corners Belichick drafts each year. Character issues are overblown. Rodney Harrison was one of the best players we had in the secondary and he was full of 'em.
You think there are 15 FAs and rookies that can go out and just cover #1 receivers...
Yeah.. no. If corners capable of covering #1 receivers were that common we wouldn't be sitting here talking about tagging Talib.
Haha, that's only the censored version. If anyone wants to hear my real opinion of Welker just send me a PM. With that, ill leave the topic because I know a lot of fans are obsessed with him.
