Obviously would be nice to have a #1 receiver, but looks to be a reasonable #2 guy which is always helpful to have. We had issues with our outside receivers last year so if he can help with that, great.
From Mike Reiss’s column today:
On item 2: “As Bill Belichick used to say, the team-building process continues over the course of the year and they still have A LOT of work to do, which is expected to include starting extension talks with promising fourth-year defensive tackle Christian...
That’s not apples to apples because it’s conditional. All things being equal, in your example I’d take the 4th next year of course. But if there’s a 5% chance of a 4th next year and a 95% chance of a 6th next year, or a 100% chance of a 6th this year, I’ll take the 6th this year. If the odds...
In the NFL, draft pick value is discounted by a year. That means a 2025 6th round pick is the equivalent of a 2024 7th round pick. Mac was traded to Jax with the expectation of sitting on the bench and got a 2024 6th rounder. That’s more than what the Bears are getting if/when Fields sits on...
It’s based on playing time. No one has said more than that yet. A 2025 6th if little playing time, a 2025 4th if he crosses a certain playing time percentage.
Just want to emphasize that the Steelers gave up a conditional 2025 6th round pick, not a 2024 6th rounder. Mac fetched more in trade value than Fields.
This rumor - is this an actual scooped story, or just some writer/twitterer speculating?
Edit - after looking, this is all I’ve seen so far, which is just nfl.com speculation.

Thinking about it, it’s the same argument for Washington to trade down as New England. They have a veteran bridge QB in Mariotta who is capable of starting while a developmental QB picked at 11 or 23 sits and learns. They spent more in free agency than the Pats did, but still have holes to fill...
Brown is 30 years old and was traded away by 2 previous teams because of his attitude and motivational problems. He had one year in his career when he played up to his potential, and that was with Scar and Brady, two of the best ever at what they did. Since then with the Pats he’s been...
If there’s only one QB they like and don’t think they’d get him, I think they would have made a bigger play for someone like Tannehill or Jimmy G rather than just settling for Brissett, who just screams placeholder.
Not that I’m bitter or anything, but here’s an analysis from Mike Florio and I’ve highlighted his conclusion.
