FAILS HIS PHYSICAL AND WE CUT HIM
We pay his guarantees and our cap availability goes down by $2M.
There are teams waiting until after the comp deadline later this week to make their best offers to free agents.
So, I think that it is likely that we will sign a player or two in the next couple of weeks. I look for a CB, S, STer and/or a RB.
You believe that we could have done better with our 2nd through 4th picks. Did I misunderstand you?
If the media agreed, then their grades would likely have been lower.
With regard to Okorafor, I agree that he is not a long-term starter, but he is indeed a known quantity, have played both tackle positions. I think that he started at LT for a couple of years. Okorafor may not even be our 2024 starter. He is a known quantity and could be our swing OT.
To me...
I gave it an A-, two great drafts in a row!
The minus is for drafting Polk instead of a top corner, but I understand, especially if we are ready to sign Gilmore and/or are waiting for Jackson to get healthy
It is quite possible that the extreme flexibility is in the eye of the beholder.
IMO, this is more likely.
starters: Anderson, Strange, Andrews, Sow, Onwenu
main OT backup: Okorafor (swing tackle, or could start with Anderson as the swing OT)
IOL backups: Andrews (backs up LG and C), Robinson...
BOTTOM LINE
It is way too early to agree on 48 players.
I would add QB Rourke (over Milton), a free agent RB, DL Roberts and ST/LB Ellis.
Basically, I wouldn't keep the last 3 draftees and would cut WR6 and WR7.

OFFENSE (24)
1) Rourke will quite likely beat out...
I don't expect us to sign a veteran to start at LT in 2024. Okorafor is that veteran. Anderson and Wallace would be expected to be backups, although I suppose McDermott or Wheatley or Lowe or Steuber could take one of the backup spots if Anderson isn't able to come back.
If our #3 looks good, he will be the #2 in 2025. If he doesn't look good, we will need to extend Brissette or to sign someone else as a backup.
In theory that could be Milton, Rourke or Zappe. Of course, I do agree with others that the drafting of Milton should mean the Zappe will be gone soon...
Yes, we will see how the 4 superior OT's work out in the future. We'll how many of them are 5-year starters and which are top 10 OT's.

Part of the problem is that the team really wanted Polk. He was likely much higher on their board than any of the WR's you mention in Alternative...
Our impact talent was QB. Maye will start next year, completing the rebuild at QB, with a new #1 and #2.
Our WR corps was completely revamped, bringing in Osborn, Polk and Baker. The main thing missing is a high level #1. That could happen at any time, but next off-season makes more sense...
yes, if we were talking about one of the top 3 WR's this would make sense. The reality is that there were many, many WR's that teams were happy with, so they didn't need to hire a handler.
