That Was A Disgusting Display By The Refs 10/14 Det vs GB

Just to add one more thing, I thought TDs were reviewed in the booth. How come we didn't even have a booth review for the last GB TD? His knee was down. Not that it mattered a lot but still.

Patricia needed to challenge that no PI call even if it wasn't overturned. Challenge it anyway. Let the refs know they are doing a poor job.
yep challenge it every time you think they got it wrong, even if they never overturn it. The refs can't get away with vetoing a rule change like this. They need to be held accountable, and the only way to do that is to make it blatantly obvious what they're doing.

GB coach: "I don't know how we pulled that off" lmfao

Let’s just get better damn officiating.

Things are going to be missed by even the best refs...that's why everything should be challengeable to fix big mistakes. Or they should have a sky ref who can tell them to pick up the flag in egregious circumstances...

It shouldn't be on the coach to ensure accuracy from the officials. That's the league's job.

I sorta hate" I Told You So" posts but...2 years ago I went ballistic on this site about Blakeman being Goody's catspaw. You all saw it in living color tonight.Recency bias leads everyone to complain about the "penalties" called on Flowers in the 4th but...that first Pecker TD in the 2nd quarter was a preposterous circus show of deliberate play fixing by Blakeman and Co. You have to beat the brakes off teams favored by Park Avenue in key games, otherwise the Boger/Blakeman cabal will get you in the end...every time

Don't forget Tony Corrupte before he retired. Just like in the nba if you get Tony Brothers or Scott Foster you know you're ****ed.

They should have a drone that flies around electrocuting horrible refs.

Rodgers is the golden boy so all this is no big deal and nothing to see here

but if this was Pats who benefited there would be calls for rule changes tomorrow led by Andy Reid!!!

The hands to the face calls felt pretty deliberate. You can see the refs staring right at them. TWICE. You don’t just call that for no reason. That is premeditated.

NFL: we made a rule change that holds refs accountable and will prevent a game being ruined by officiating

Clete: hold my beer.

Think about how insane the application of the PI challenge has become: Coaches now aren’t using it because the officials won’t overturn anything and they know they’re just wasting a TO.

If the understanding is the officials will only call a penalty after a challenge if the interference is really, really, really bad, then the process is pointless because those get called 99.99% of the time. The .01%, like the Saints-Rams fiasco, only happens about once a decade so the officials are just going to let everything else stand.

Umpire Jeff Rice threw the flags. As far as I can tell, his only claim to fame in a Patriots game is getting knocked out in the 2017 game against the Broncos.

There are no “officials”. There is ONE official - Al Riveron in NYC.

The field officials have zero authority and decision-making power on reviews. Their only role is to answer questions Riveron asks and to carry out Riveron’s rulings.

I’m not even a Lions fan and I am livid. That might’ve been the worst reffing performance that I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot of incompetent reffing. Clete Blakeman is putrid at his job.

Just thankful I’m not a Lions fan. Probably the first time I’ve ever looked at a game and truly wondered that it was fixed. Just disgusting.

Disgusting. The NFL can’t have this kind of horsesh!t.
Yeah, I picked the Lions to win. They should have. That was robbery. Lions are a tough out.

Why can't the league just listen to Belichick and make every call subject to a challenge?

I want that too, especially in these situations except there is always holding on the line mostly uncalled and on critical plays coaches can roll the dice and throw the flag if the play doesn't go their way.

That's because nobody has looked at his bank account.

This is the kind of garbage that ruins sport.

This the same garbage that has been going on for many decades. The reality is that the refs have gotten better over time but unfortunately for them technology and the rulebook has gotten to a point where their mistakes or gut reactions to judgement calls are just more blatantly exposed.
