Uh...the writer is 100% correct. Belichick has shown little to no interest in what is at this point little more than the equivalent of a participation trophy to him.

I don't really see the "issue" ( If there even is one). I'm sure Belichick respects the Chiefs history, specifically Lamar Hunt. But Belichick isn't in this business to win second rate trophies. He is in it to win Lombardi trophies. Belichick passes the trophy off as quick as possible because he knows the job isn't done. And that said trophy is virtually meaningless in the grand scheme of things.

I guess the writer is lucky KC doesn't have a Hockey team.

Hockey teams don't (usually) even touch the Conference Championship trophies (let alone show "disdain" for it) because A, there is perceived bad juju, and B, no one usually plays for second place.

Oh, FFS. The guy has seven rings. He's been to the show ten times. What does this dude expect?

The exact reason I never buy AFC Champion gear. Never.

It's not like Belichick would have fallen to his knees and sobbed, clutching it to his chest, if it was the Ted Marchibroda Trophy, even though I know he deeply respected Ted and respects his memory.

Casting Belichick's almost-certainly calculated reaction as throwing shade on Lamar Hunt is to misunderstand Belichick completely. He has many qualities, some of which I'm not impressed by or even outright revile, but a lack of respect for the NFL and its legendary figures is not one.

The writer is implying Bill doesn't have respect for the trophy and history of the game...which is absurd...nothing could be further from the truth. No mater how successful you are...it doesn't change your appreciation for the game. The writer is an ass.
