The entire Chandler Jones situation is a good key on why it most probably is a mix of both.. disciplinary and performance related. That being said I guess there is a difference between getting stoned during a BYE week and missing curfew to party the night before the SB.
If you can't fathom that Rowe could have made erroneous assumptions despite the game plan that is why he was "genuinely surprised", that's on you. And there's nothing I can do to help you. I'm going to take McCourty's word over Rowe since McCourty is a captain as well as a guy who helps make the adjustments in the secondary.
I've already stated that I was disappointed that Butler wasn't out there. I've also stated that I have no idea what would have happened if he'd played. It changes the entirety of the game. No clue what the outcome would have been . None.
Butler made a key stop on 3rd down that kept Atlanta out of field goal range and allowed the Pats to get the ball back for Brady to tie it up.Butler is getting some high praise in hindsight, he should have been out there but, let’s not act like he hasn’t been roasted in big games before like last year’s Super Bowl.
Belichick handicapped the team by refusing to play Butler and instead choosing to play scrubs Richards and Bademosi in his place.
Nothing else you've cherry picked matters.
They punted once yesterday without him out there. They played good enough as a unit with him in there up until two weeks ago despite his alleged down season. He wasn't great this season but he was the best they had and all he had to do is make a few plays.
Seems like leaks are coming out regarding the benching so stay tuned. If he was up all night partying(allegedly) if true, than that would be selfish on his part considering others were following the rules set for the entire team.
See, why are you saying this. It seems to be a way of saying he shouldn't have played for quality reasons. That's not true, so it just clutters things. That was last year. This year he has been a below average player ever since Thanksgiving. His game against the Steelers was just awful.
So much garbage in one post. Amazing. Have you even watched the games or the coverages ? Oh boy..
Also special congrats on the genius move of saying Rowe should play in the slot (where he SUCKS because he is not quick) instead on the outside (where he is fine as long as he doesnt have to defend jump balls).
The loss IS squarely on the coach.Nothing cherry picked. You said the loss is squarely on the coach and I brought you numerous examples of players being in the right position to make a play but fail to execute. None of it has to do with coaching.
Point is this game had at times poor coaching and extremely poor execution by the players.
lol the "Not Done Yet" slogan does feel a little bit embarrassing now.. and definitely low hanging fruit for ridiculeNOT DONE YET
Yepp. Absolutely mind numbing decision. There's got to be something to this story.Otherwise, I want this pos fired. I'm sorry but I do.
Chandler Jones actually played after being stoned, so BB will not sacrifice talent to teach a lesson and hurt the team. I truly believe that BB and MP probably saw enough to determine that Rowe at that moment in time was the better option.
I always thought there was an implicit understanding between players and coaches that coaches would try to allow players who helped get them to the Super Bowl to play in the Super Bowl.
I thought this was considered a kind of reward for hard work during the regular season, even if the player was a bit banged up.
agreed..what they were doing clearly wasn't working...maybe butler makes 1 key play. The killer here that just won’t stop haunting me is the fact that I truly believe the defense needed just one more damn stop. And I’m telling you Butler does not miss that 3rd n 6 tackle. The Pats put up over 600 all purpose yards and lost. That’s unheard of. And while I don’t want anyone else as our coach, Bill owns this one and I’m pissed at him.
Please stop with these type of posts. I've gotten quite a few pm's saying that you are continuously trolling. To be honest, if you go and read a lot of your posts, they do come across like that. Please don't post just to incite. Thanks!!!!
So you think the D had a good game plan? That's even worse because it means they didn't execute, which means they didn't execute because they lack talent, speed, athleticism to make the plays.
Which means we need to totally revamp the talent on d
If that really kills you then relax because if Butler is on the field the Eagles would attack someone completely different on that play. Most probably one of the LBs. So it would have been most likely a totally different play which makes all those coulda-shoulda scenarios pointless.
