I don't think there's any doubt Brady is in first for MVP voting as of now. What I've always laughed about, even before Manning was on the Broncos, was how personal Pats fans take Peyton's success. Who cares who some people consider better than the other? Everyone has Brady as, at worst, a top 5...
Wow! I usually stop by before our game week to share my thoughts on our teams, but I had a busy week. Not surprised we lost, though I do truly feel that if we meet again in the playoffs, it'll be a different result.
Can't talk any trash though today, it's a great day to be a Pats fan. We got...
Eh, I've been active enough on here this season I figured I'd stop by. I'll be far away from any computer and enough beers deep to make posting a bad idea in a few hours anyway.
I'm thinking 24-21 Denver, but I'd settle for Denver winning by 14+ to take the stress out of it. :D
Cautiously optimistic about the game, but I think it's about an even matchup as it can be. Hoping for the best, haven't been this nervous for a football game--probably ever. I feel like I need these bragging rights, because the Pats are set up real well for next year and this could be our only shot.
You have the best coach in the game, that's for sure. I'm already terrified of your roster for next year, and praying we can win the Super Bowl so we can at least have bragging rights through next February.
I don't think we're going to have the cap space to keep him. The Jets are supposedly targeting him too...I think it'd be a great signing for the Pats...take him from Denver and keep him from the Jets.
Here's a stat about our defense that you'll find much more "fun" than I will:
Via Profootball Focus: Opp. 2013 QB ratings when throwing at DEN CBs: Harris: 64.1. DRC: 67.1. Webster: 96.9. Carter: 97.9. Champ: 99.9. Jammer: 132.9.
You can see how taking away Harris and replacing him with...
I know it's already been mentioned, but a lot of teams do this...and Denver did it last game too, so it's not a "just for this game" kind of thing. In fact, the Chargers were allotted a certain number of tickets (not sure if it's for the team and their families, etc.) and they couldn't even sell...
I'm very happy about this. Even getting the Patriots at +4 makes for a very, very nice bet for a Broncos fan. Best case scenario is a three point win, worst case scenario is a nice payday.
If anyone would like to give out sympathy for our injured cornerback, let me know and I'll collect all the thoughts and well wishes and send them along to Denver.
I'm sure they would appreciate it. :D
He used to be. Champ Bailey WAS the best corner in the game. I don't think anyone would say that anymore. I still like him playing nickel and covering the slot like he is now, but Quentin Jammer is as far removed from being the Quentin Jammer everyone remembers as Champ is from being the Champ...
Yep, that's a pretty big blow for our defense. I'm not here to get into a "who's been hit worse by injuries" argument, just noting that that's definitely a crucial loss for us. At this point, with Von out, Harris was our most valuable defender still healthy.
