Well to be fair it depends on how slow. Roethlisberger was not elite at processing speed- not terrible either- but was good enough to win because he had elite level ability to avoid sacks.
The big reason that I didn't want Maye was that he takes too long to process and get rid of the ball. So I hope your observation is wrong but my concern is that it's right. Does he have the athleticism to overcome the slow decision making? I don't think so, but time will tell.
OK I wanted McCarthy but I'm over it. Maye has a lot of athleticism, size, and arm strength so we KNOW he's not Mac Jones. He's young and has plenty of time to develop. He has a good chance to be good but it will take some time to know what we've got.
He's a much better player than anyone that we've got at WR. And that's not even the point. The point is that NE hasn't made it happen at offensive skill positions. They've failed, at least so far.
