It's a moot point obviously...I understand that Baker would be a stop-gap. I also know his teammates absolutely love playing with him. Expense is irrelevant because I also advocated trading out of the #3 pick to fill out the roster with more talent over the next two drafts. Worry about the QB...

IMO the smart move is to sign Baker and trade out of the #3 pick so that you can infuse talent on the roster over the next couple seasons. They won’t do that though.

IMO, CJ will get in. It will likely take a few years, but... Terrell Davis (also a very good / elite RB) was the beneficiary of the Shanahan / Kubiak / Elway trifecta. They maximized Davis as one of many weapons on those 97-'98 teams. CJ was really the only horse in Tennessee during his 2k season.

It's a shame Chris Johnson isn't first ballot-worthy. He had the same level of "stop what you're doing, cuz here comes a CJ replay" to him the way LT had a few years prior. But I suppose LT had longer staying power.

The Bucs can run out a list of QBs that were terrible in their organization (while having varying degrees of success elsewhere): Vinnie Testaverde, Steve DeBerg, Steve Young... If you're going with the worst QB? It's probably Steve Spurrier. But hell, if you're going for biggest waste of a #1...

I mean I'm pretty sure that Lee Roy Selmon, Jimmie Giles, Paul Gruber, Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, Ronde Barber, Mike Alstott & John Lynch all would've safely reached the Pats' "Hall of Fame." Come to think of it, the Pats would've got a hell of a lot of mileage out of James Wilder, too.

Still don't see how this moves the Dolphins out of 3rd place (and most certainly short of a WC). Too many holes on that team to gut two drafts for a WR your QB will struggle to get him the ball. It's like they are pretending they actually drafted Herbert instead of Tua...:rofl:
